Team Chemistry Consultant + Active Team Member

Our bread and butter. If your goals require a long-term, in-person engagement, we will advise on and take ownership of the entire team’s emotional state of mind, both at the individual and group level, resolving all Team Chemistry issues for the duration of the engagement + We will also join and contribute to the team in a formal capacity, taking a high-visibility, boots-on-the-ground approach to success — we believe in fighting hard alongside our teammates!

Tapan Jani, the Founder and CEO of Tapan Consulting, is a versatile and dynamic leader with a passion for unearthing high-performing teams. Born in India and raised all around the world, Tapan brings a unique perspective and a deep understanding of different cultures to his work.

After obtaining a degree in Biology from the University of Illinois at Chicago, Tapan spent six and a half years at Amazon.com, working on a variety of teams and projects across different domains. He also had the opportunity to collaborate with a range of top-tier partners, from national credit card companies to single-named entertainment giants. Tapan's last role at Amazon was running the company's first-ever international employee volunteerism program, which reported directly to the current CEO, Andy Jassy.

In 2018, Tapan experienced a very unexpected "enlightenment" and — seemingly overnight — gained an entirely newfound appreciation for nature, the present moment, and observing and practicing authenticity in all its forms. He made the difficult decision to leave a career and a team that he loved in order to spend more time driving across the country and to follow personal passions like learning comedy. He studied at the world-renowned Second City, taking classes on scriptwriting, stand-up, storytelling, and satire. Tapan co-founded a satirical sports publication called Sports Riot, which quickly amassed over 60,000 followers, and co-hosted a podcast called Instead Of for 176 weekly episodes.

With Tapan Consulting, Tapan combines his diverse professional experience and his passion for fostering authentic, high-performing teams with his optimistic and deeply satirical sense of humor, always reminding anyone within earshot to “keep it real.” He uses a unique approach that combines empathy, understanding, laughter, and commitment to long-term relationships to help clients achieve their goals and create lasting change.
